Basic job description
Plan, direct, organize, coordinate & control the entire strategic procurement activities to ensure increase in profit by reducing input Material cost.
Competence Profile
Education
B.E. / B Tech. / Diploma in Mechanical/Production
PG in materials management preferred
Experience: 8 to 10 years
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
- Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of goods provided.
- Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met – or exceeded
- Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
- Development of New Vendors, vendor evaluation & rating.
- Plan, Develop & Implement cost reduction strategies.
- Report the performances regularly and accurately, together with other matters of importance, to the Top Management in prescribed MIS format.
- To assist Top management in various areas as per requirement.
Specialized Knowledge
- Proven work experience as a Procurement manager.
- Plan & develop vendor network.
- Must be expert in strategic cost reduction.
- Excellent in costing
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
Personal Attributes
- Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Possess good negotiation skills
- Familiarity with MS Office
- Availability to travel as needed.
